How useful you feel the module in Systems Analysis has been to you? Give reasons.
I feel that this module of System Analysis has been very useful because it expanded my knowledge on system analysis and why it is needed and what it is used for. This module has also helped me gain a wider knowledge on diagrams which will be very useful for the future. These diagrams include: DFD Diagram and flow diagrams etc. This course also helped me get a better understanding of data flow diagrams in particular because I found it hard understand this topic at A level.
Do you think that all Computing and IT courses should have a module in Systems Analysis? Why?
I think it would be useful for IT and computing course to have IT because this means that people would get a better understanding of what system analysts and programmers do and what diagrams and information you need to provide to other companies. Also it is useful because many business require you to need to know what a system analyst does and why they are needed.
Given that most managers use IT systems in their daily work and often are involved in requesting new IT systems. Do you think that it would be useful if courses in Business and Management included a module in Systems Analysis? Why?
I think that the Business and Management courses would find a System Analysis module very useful because it would give them a view on one of the levels of business and what they are required to do. But also I find that it can be unnecessary because business courses do not need to go into as much detail of system analysis and could get students confused on how it relates to there course.
What topics did you find most useful in the Systems Analysis module? Why?
I found the majority of the topics useful because they were expanding on what I did last year and it explained and give me a wider knowledge on some of the things I was not so sure about in the previous years. I especially found the Data Flow Diagram part very useful because this topic I found hard at A level and with more examples and instructions this give me a better understanding of this topic.
What topics did you find least useful in the Systems Analysis module? Why?
There were no real topics that I found unnecessary because it all was information you would need to know and which is useful to know on System Analysts and Programmers.
Are there any topics which were not covered which you think should have been?
I think in the number of weeks we had to carry out and learn this module the about of information we learnt in a short space of time was very good. I think anymore information could make the module have to much detail and people would not be able to focus on the harder parts of the module such as data flow diagrams.
